Cleveland native, Indiana University graduate receives top honor from Delta Dental Foundation
Indianapolis, Ind. —
The Delta Dental Foundation recently honored Landon Micheal Gamble, DDS of Cleveland, Ohio with its prestigious Student Leadership Award for $2,500.
Gamble is a 2016 dental school graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry and was selected for the award because of his extensive volunteerism, leadership and public service commitment.
He has volunteered with Heifer Project, Global Vision International, Tropical Pathology and Infectious Disease Association of Peru. He has also used equestrian therapy in his work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Locally, he has been one of the most frequent volunteer clinicians at the Dental Student Outreach Clinic, serving low-income adults in Indianapolis’ near Eastside.
“Landon Gamble’s work in domestic and global oral health and community health programs has been outstanding; he has shown leadership and dedication to many initiatives,” said Dr. John N. Williams, dean of the Indiana University School of Dentistry. “His experiences working with oral health programs in Kenya, Central America and Mexico City through IU Dentistry’s International Service Learning Program have shaped his aspiration to work in global health administration after graduation.”
