The Delta
Dental Foundation’s goals are to support education
and research for the advancement of dental science
and to promote the oral health of the public through
education and service activities, particularly for those
with special needs. Each year the Delta Dental Foundation provides
financial support, in the form of grants, to
various organizations
Contribution Request
The Delta Dental Foundation provides support to
programs or projects that help develop and heighten
dental awareness among the public and that offer
continuing dental education.
Dental Master's Thesis Award Program The Delta Dental Foundation invites Master of Science students
at the dental schools in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana to submit
proposals for the Dental Master’s Thesis Award Program.
This program is intended to encourage thesis research that
is of direct relevance to the costs or outcomes of dental
care.
Research Grant
It has been recognized
by Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio
and Indiana for nearly three decades that it has a legitimate
interest in fostering research related to oral health,
especially research which could have direct clinical
application with significant potential for reducing
treatment costs along with improving oral health. To
that end, a portion of the Delta Dental Foundation’s
(DDF) budget each year is allocated for dental research
grants. The Research Screening Committee has been established
within the DDF to act as a review body for research
applications.
Community Mini-Grant Program
The Delta Dental Foundation encourages community-based oral health programs in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana to apply for the Community Mini-Grant Program. These competitive grants are awarded to programs that emphasize oral health initiatives with special consideration given to those whose programs focus on improving the oral health of low-income children.

cancer education, or conduct oral cancer research.
