Delta Dental Foundation Board of Trustees Elects Officers
January 22, 2007 (Okemos, MI) – Officers of the Delta Dental Foundation Board of Trustees for
2007 were recently elected during the Foundation’s annual meeting in Okemos, Mich. The
following officers were elected for one-year terms:

Jack W. Gottschalk, D.D.S., of Cincinnati, Ohio, was re-elected chairperson. He is a
founding member of the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry and is past
president of the Ohio Dental Association. He also served as chair of the Delta Dental of
Ohio Board of Directors.

Lawrence D. Crawford, D.D.S., of Rochester Hills, Mich., was re-elected vice chairperson. Crawford is president and CEO of DBM Technologies of Pontiac and is a general dentist. Crawford was chair of the Delta Dental of Michigan Board of Directors.

Penelope K. Majeske, Ph.D., of Troy, Mich., was re-elected secretary. Majeske is a retired deputy dean of the College of Lifelong Learning at Wayne State University. She
also served as chair of the Delta Dental of Michigan Board of Directors and the Delta
Dental of Ohio Board of Directors.

James P. Hallan, of Okemos, Mich., was re-elected treasurer. He is president and chief
operating officer of the Michigan Retailers Association. He serves as vice chairperson of
the Delta Dental of Michigan Board of Directors and treasurer of the Delta Dental of
Ohio Board of Directors.

Stephen A. Eklund, D.D.S., M.H.S.A., DrPH, of Ann Arbor, Mich., was re-elected
member-at-large. He is a professor of dental public health at the University of Michigan,
School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology.

John A. Breza, D.D.S., of Shelby Township, Mich., was elected member-at-large. Breza,
a general dentist, is chairperson of the Delta Dental of Michigan Board of Directors. • Steven B. Stratton, of Big Rapids, Mich., was re-named immediate past chairperson.
Stratton is the labor relations director at Ferris State University.
Other members re-elected to one-year terms were: Michael T. Schaeffer, D.D.S., of Cincinnati,
Ohio; C. Richard Seitz, of Okemos, Mich; Colleen G. Vienna, D.D.S., of North Olmsted, Ohio;
and, Lonny E. Zietz, D.D.S., M.S., of Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Delta Dental Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and
Indiana. It seeks to support education and research for the advancement of dental science and to
promote the oral health of the public through education and service activities, particularly for
those with special needs.
Since its inception in 1980, the Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $10 million. |
