Delta Dental Foundation Board of Trustees Elects Officers

February 18, 2008 (Okemos, MI) —Officers of the Delta Dental Foundation Board of Trustees were elected to serve one-year terms during the board’s recent annual meeting.

Lawrence D. Crawford, D.D.S., of Rochester Hills, Mich., was elected chairperson. He is the president and chief executive officer of DBM Technologies in Detroit.
James P. Hallan, of Okemos, Mich., was elected vice chairperson. He currently serves as president and chief executive officer of the Michigan Retailers Association in Lansing.
Penelope K. Majeske, Ph.D., of Troy, Mich., was elected treasurer. Majeske is a retired deputy dean of the College of Lifelong Learning at Wayne State University.
John A. Breza, D.D.S., of Shelby Township, Mich., was elected secretary. He is a general practitioner in Fraser.
Stephen A. Eklund, D.D.S., M.H.S.A., DrPH, of Ann Arbor, Mich., was re-elected member-at-large. He is a professor emeritus of dental public health at the University of Michigan, School of Public Health.
Lonny E. Zietz, D.D.S., M.S., of Ada, Mich., was elected member-at-large. He is an oral surgeon practicing in Grand Rapids.
Jack W. Gottschalk, D.D.S., of Cincinnati, Ohio, will serve as immediate past chairperson. Gottschalk was a founding member of the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry and is the past president of the Ohio Dental Association.
Laura O. Stearns, of Williamston, Mich., was elected to the board to serve as a trustee for a one-year term. Stearns is the vice president of service program operations at Michigan Catholic Conference in Lansing.

Trustees re-elected to serve one-year terms were: Michael T. Schaeffer, D.D.S., of Cincinnati, Ohio, general practitioner; C. Richard Seitz, of Okemos, Mich., former president and CEO of Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana and past chair of the national Delta Dental Plans Association Board of Directors; and, Colleen G. Vienna, D.D.S., of North Olmstead, Ohio, general practitioner.

The Delta Dental Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization established in 1980 by Delta Dental of Michigan, which also operates Delta Dental of Ohio and Delta Dental of Indiana.
