Delta Dental’s national point-of-service PPO program, Delta Dental PPO™ (Point-of-Service), provides members with access to two of the nation’s largest networks of participating dentists—our Delta Dental PPO network and our Delta Dental Premier® network. Other carriers are trying to compete with Delta Dental’s network size by layering leased networks onto their PPO network. The results of leased networks are often only modest increases to network size for higher administrative costs and diluted PPO savings.
Our unique dual network gives Delta Dental PPO (Point-of-Service) members access to special contract protections built into the entire Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier networks. This results in Delta Dental members submitting more than 94 percent of in-network claims nationwide, compared to more than 65 percent of average network claims utilization with other carriers.
Members will save the most money and receive the highest level of coverage when they visit a Delta Dental PPO dentist. Our PPO dentists have agreed to accept lower fees as full payment for covered services, which saves money for organizations purchasing our plans and for individuals covered by them. If members go to a dentist who doesn’t participate in Delta Dental PPO, they can still save money if the dentist participates in Delta Dental Premier.
